It's time to get your home ready for photo's. What do you do?

I have some tips to make this process go as smoothly as possible. Don't fret! 

Less is more in most cases for home photography. Declutter what is in view and clean as if you were about to have a home full of guests. 

Below are some details on how we would like to see the spaces simplified in your images.


***FOR ALL ROOMS, TURN ON LIGHTS, LAMPS, OPEN CURTAINS AND BLINDS, AND TURN OFF ALL FANS***


PLEASE HAVE EVERYTHING DONE PRIOR TO OUR SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT.


Exteriors


  • Move vehicles from driveway before the photographer arrives. Please try not to park in front of any windows/doors of your home.
  • Put garbage cans in garage or on the curb.
  • Trim any bushes, have a fresh maintained lawn, remove/hide hoses, and any outdoor porch shoes.
  • For backyards please make sure all animal feces are picked up.
  • Animal bowls and toys are removed/hidden.
  • Put away all lawn equipment.

Living Area


  • Turn on all lights/lamps and shut off ALL fans.
  • Open curtains to let in natural light and open blinds.
  • Declutter as much as possible.
  • Hide remotes, cords, magazines, and please turn off TV's.
  • Vacuum carpets/sweep/Mop floors.
  • Remove animal bedding, litter boxes and toys.
  • Straighten couch cushions/pillows.

Kitchen

  • Remove as much small counter appliances as possible. We want to see all your counter space as much as we can.
  • Sink should be clear of any dishes, sponges, and soaps.
  • Wipe down all countertops and cabinets.
  • Hide Garbage bins and animal food bowls.

Bathrooms

  • All bathrooms should be clear of anything on the counters as well as bottles, soaps, shampoos, washes, toothpaste, razors, makeup, etc.
  • Remove all towels OR fold them neatly and hang sparingly. 
  • Bathtubs and showers should be completely empty and glass doors and mirrors should be wiped down.
  • Hide garbage bins, toilet paper racks, and aerosol cans.
  • Remove rugs if possible to show the beautiful flooring.

Dining

  • Clear off tables and chairs.
  • Make sure dining areas are free of any cords and clutter
  • Open Curtains and blinds
  • Remove highchairs/toddler seats

Bedrooms

  • Vacuum carpets/mop floors
  • Hide laundry baskets
  • Clear off end tables, dresser tops, desks, etc.
  • Hide remotes and cords.
  • Shut off Tv
  • Clear any jewelry, chargers, papers, etc as much as possible.
  • Make beds nice and neat.
  • Try not to shove too much stuff under the bed, as some of the items can be seen if they are close to the edges.

Pools/Porches

  • Pools and porches should be clean and free of debris.
  • Remove any ash trays, garbage bins, and pool supplies.
  • Tidy up any seating areas and children's toys.
  • If there is a pool vacuum in the pool, please remove prior to our appointment.

Pets

  • I absolutely adore animals! However, for the session we ask that you keep your pets somewhere out of the way for the photography.
  • Clean up after them, pick up feces from yards, pet food bowls, bedding, and toys.
